5K Treks is a government-registered trekking company located in Thamel, Kathmandu, Nepal. We organize trekking in various parts of Nepal as well as arrange tours for cities and villages of Nepal, such as Pokhara, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Lumbini, Nagarkot, Nuwakot, Dhulikhel, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur.

We help you with almost every aspect of trekking and tours in Nepal: booking air tickets, reserving hotels, finding local restaurants, planning itineraries, hiring guides and porters, renting vehicles, getting permits, hiking hills, climbing peaks, and organizing expeditions.

Mr. Rupak Prasain

Mr. Rupak Prasain (entrepreneur, teacher, nature enthusiast) is the founder and brainchild of 5K Treks as well as Language Hub, a language institute located in Thamel, Kathmandu. Established in 2017, it is now one of the leading language institutes of Nepal. The institute is also used for training local guides and porters to speak in English as well as various other languages, such as Spanish, Chinese, Italian, German, and French.

Mr. Prasain is an alumnus of Tribhuvan University (TU). After graduating from college, he spent a significant amount of time traveling to remote regions of this enchanting country. Over time, he became familiar with these regions as well as the people living there. After getting first-hand experience of the joys and challenges of traveling to these places, he became aware of not just the natural beauty but also the historical and cultural significances of these regions.

Having a background in business and finance, Mr. Prasain has a solid understanding of the intricacies of operating a business. He is very thorough, meticulous, and professional in his planning, organization, and execution of every aspect of the trek. He takes care of the minutest of details and understands very well that customer satisfaction is of prime importance.

Mr. Prasain is always eager to talk about Nepal with anybody who is interested in any aspect of this fascinating country. He is multilingual and can speak Nepali, Chinese, English, and Hindi fluently. He is extremely approachable and can be reached out personally if you need any kind of assistance.

Meet the Team

Pasang Tshering Lama of Sankhuwasaba has more than 10 years of experience in high-altitude trekking and expedition, with a strong focus on glacial exploration and mountain expedition. He has climbed several mountains, including Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, and Manaslu. Pasang is the guide you need by your side when journeying through the challenging terrains of the Himalayas.

Jon Rai from Solukhumbu has 5 years of guiding experience, particularly in the Everest and Annapurna regions. His deep understanding of these regions allows him to guide trekkers through some of the most challenging and remote landscapes in the world. Known for his genial nature, Jon ensures that trekkers feel supported and confident while navigating Nepal's remote and awe-inspiring landscapes.

Surendra Tamang from Dhading has more than 5 years of expertise in high-altitude treks and technical trekking in the Himalayas. He has successfully led several groups in remote regions of Nepal, such as Tsum Valley, Nar Phu, Kangla Pass, Manaslu Circuit, as well as in popular regions like Everest and Annapurna.

Tanka Prasad Rai of Solukhumbu has more than 7 years of experience, primarily in peak climbing. He has successfully summited several beginner-friendly peaks, such as Mera Peak, Island Peak, and Lobuche Peak. He is a seasoned guide who has done treks and tours in all the popular regions of Nepal, including Mustang, Manang, Manaslu, Khumbu, Kanchenjunga, and Langtang.

Sushant Chandra Thakuri has over ten years of experience as a tour guide. Being a college graduate, he combines academic knowledge with hands-on knowledge of the tourism industry. Known for his approachable and humble nature, Sushant is an invaluable guide for your trip to Nepal.

Raj Kumar Karki is one of our most experienced staff, having served as a trekking guide for more than 15 years. He has traveled and trekked extensively in and around the Everest and Annapurna regions. A true polyglot, he can not only speak Italian, Spanish, and German, but can also teach most of these languages. Raj Kumar sees himself as a curious learner and a responsible person.
